Salsiccia con uva (sausage with grapes)

This classic Italian countryside dish is a perfect example that things don’t always have to be complicated in the kitchen and that simple is just as satisfying. This recipe cannot get simpler.

Use mild or hot italian sausage, green or purple seedless grapes or a combination, according to your preference. It is a perfect weeknight recipe that I am sure will be popular in your home.

You will need:

2 tbsp butter
450 g italian sausages
250 g seedless grapes
3/4 cup dry white wine


1. In a skillet over low heat, cook the sausages in the butter, turning them regularly, until brown all over, about 10 minutes.
2. Add the grapes and the wine and increase the heat to medium-high. Bring the wine to a boil, then reduce the heat to simmer.
3. Cook, uncovered, turning the sausages once in a while and moving the grapes around until all the liquid has evaporated.
4. Serve at once on a warm plate with crusty bread on the side.
